တောင်ရေချမ်းယားအပင်ကို အချို့သောဆေးများ ဥပမာ Warfarin ကဲ့သို့ သွေးကျဲဆေးများ၊ ဟော်မုန်းပါသော ပဋိသန္ဓေတားဆေးများ၊ အတက်ရောဂါကုဆေးများ၊ စိတ်ရောဂါကုဆေးများနှင့် အတူတွဲဖက် အသုံးမပြုသင့်ပါ။

ဆေးဘူးတစ်ဘူးလျှင် ဆေးတောင့် (၆၀) ပါဝင်ပါသည်။

Composition:
Each capsule contains
Hypericum perforatum (St. John’s wort) flower and leaf extract …………………. 250 mg

Plant description:
The medicinal parts of St. John’s wort are flowering parts and leaves. It is widely grown in Europe and hilly region of Asia especially in Shan State of Myanmar.

Active principle:
Active ingredients of St. John’s wort are hyperforin, hypericin, pseudohypericin, the flavonoids quercetin, hyperoside, quercitrin, isoquercitrin, rutin, campherol, luteolin, and 13-118-biapigenin.

Pharmacological action:
Hyperforin acts as antidepressants by blocking the reuptake of the neurotransmitters norepinephrine, serotonin and dopamine. By reducing the activity of reuptake transporters, hyperforin increases the levels of these neurotransmitters in the brain, which improve mood and restore emotional balance. It also inhibits the reuptake of GABA, a neurotransmitter that increases relaxation and reduces anxiety.

Indications:

◆ Mild to moderate depression and its secondary symptoms like headache, sweating, palpitation, anxiety and insomnia

Dosage:
12 years and above – one capsule two times daily

Side effect:
Occasional mild gastrointestinal disturbances

Precaution
◆ Phototoxic reactions may occur at high dose.
◆ It should be avoided if used hormonal contraception.
